Ben Martinez is the Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Lubbock. His support is from his beautiful wife Nathalie and his two lovely daughters, Talia and Maranda. Ben started out in normal Calvary fashion… in the nursery! From there, Ben served at Calvary Chapel in Santa Fe, and in Rio Rancho in various roles, and most recently was the Assistant Pastor at Calvary Chapel in Rio Rancho NM. During the four years that Ben served as an assistant Pastor at Calvary Chapel Rio Rancho, he was being trained to go out and plant a church. After being ordained in November 2002, the Lord began to work on the heart of Ben, as well as the heart of his Pastor and family, that it was time to step out and begin a "new work" in Texas.

Calvary Chapel Rio Rancho sent Pastor Ben out in October 2003. The first Bible study began in November and one year later became officially affiliated as Calvary Chapel Lubbock. Ben loves to teach God's word verse by verse, chapter by chapter and book by book. He loves to share the incredible message of God's unmatchable grace. Ben is very passionate from the pulpit… He has seen God do so many miraculous things in his life that he would feel complacent if he wasn't out sharing the love of Jesus Christ. Ben’s heart is laid out in their mission as a church: "A place of refuge for the lost and hurting…" His desire is to cultivate an environment where ANYONE can come and find refuge from the storms of life... a place where lives can be transformed for the glory of God.
